Ghana prove World Cup credentials with impressive win over Japan
The Black Stars of Ghana have proven they will be missed at the FIFA World Cup in Russia 2018 following their remarkable display in the 2-0 win over Japan in Yokohama.
The Black Stars looked depleted ahead of the game with many of the senior players, not called up for the game. The likes of Jordan and Andre Ayew, Christian Atsu and Asamoah were all missing from the squad with Mubarak Wakaso withdrawing in the eleventh hour.
Meanwhile, the African country that thrilled the World at the World Cup in 2010, South Africa failed to reach the mundial this summer due to some unfavorable conditions.
Ghana failed to qualify after Egypt emerged top of Group E of the Africa qualifiers.
However, since the appointment of Kwesi Appiah, the team has been revitalized with several new players in the team.
Ghana since losing out on qualifying for the World Cup have recordede some impressive results, beating Ethiopia 5-0 in the AFCON 2019 qualifiers and recording wins over World Cup bound nations Saudi Arabia and Japan.
